No metal wires and no irritating bands! Invisalign uses a set of “invisible” aligners that reposition teeth just like traditional braces, minus the embarrassing and cumbersome metal. Invisalign has been used by over half a million people worldwide and is considered by many to be the ideal way to straighten teeth.
Invisalign aligners are removable! What this means to you is that, unlike metal braces which stay in place for the full term, the aligners can be removed to eat, brush and floss. Metal brackets can trap food and encourage plaque build-up, but with Invisalign, there’s no need to worry about cavities. There’s no added risk of bacteria getting stuck under aligners – you can take them out for thorough dental care and to eat sticky or hard foods.
You’ll receive a new set of aligners about every two weeks to keep teeth moving in the right direction. You can switch out the aligners yourself, and then visit our New Jersey office about every six weeks. With close monitoring, Dr. Douglas can make sure treatment is going exactly as planned – with Invisalign braces, the guesswork is taken out of the process!
The time frames with Invisalign are comparable to that of traditional braces. In some cases, Invisalign may actually be a quicker solution than metal braces.
